The Domain - J-C. Raspail - Domaine de la Mûre - 26340 Saillans

Flavien RASPAIL & his son Jean-Claude RASPAIL

One family : 3 generations

Flavien Raspail set up our exploitation in 1942, as he purchased the "Domaine de la Mûre". However, this exploitation expanded from 5 to 15 hectares in 1967 with the arrival of his son Jean-Claude Raspail. Today, Frédéric, his grandson, first young sommelier in the PACA area in 1995 (Provence - Alps - French Riviera), perpetuates the tradition with his father.

Clairette & Crémant de Die

Vin de Pays de la Drôme

Our vineyard stretches out over a 15 hectares area in the canton of Saillans down-river from Die (Drôme region).

Thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and oak casks

Stainless vats and oak barrels, combination of ancestral and modern techniques

Disgorgement and labelling line

The microclimate as well as the altitude (270 m) are more favourable for the grapes maturity. Therefore, the vine is more spread and Saillans is often perceived as to the Mecca of vineyard.

So steep are the slopes that our vineyard is often very difficult to cultivate. The clayey, chalky and stony soil cuts down the production in favour of the quality

 Manual rack riddling

Since the harvest 2000 our wines have stem from biological grapes.

The guarantees of ultimate quality in our wines : meticulously-observed ancestral cultivation and vinification methods and sensibly-employed modern techniques. Cultivation free of pesticides, chemical fertilisers and weed-killers. Hand picking, vinification in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats and oak casks. Elimination of fermentation sediment by rack riddling…
